Here on the court it's been snowing off and on for 3 days. If you believe the gleeful meteorologists, this is the storm of the century. But as I gaze out my window I see a vertical, gentle "blizzard". If you look hard, at the above photo, you'll see the flakes falling slowly. I could certainly dodge them on my way to the mailbox. Slow accumulation will still give us a foot or more. But it's not "one for the record books". It's actually quite relaxing to watch the gently falling snow. Of course, I'm retired and can afford philosophizing. I may write a poem.
Real blizzards are horizontal and Minnesota has had many, many of them, from the deadly 1940 Armistice Day blizzard to the 2010 "Domebuster". This is not that.
Nevertheless, I confess to a nostalgic wish to go out and frolic. Perhaps, if I survive the snow moving exercise, a snow angel.
